What Is Mass Save?
Mass Save is an energy efficiency initiative sponsored by participating Massachusetts electric and natural gas utilities. Depending on the home, project, utility provider, and current program requirements, eligible customers may have access to energy assessments, weatherization assistance, equipment rebates, and financing for approved improvements.
Mass Save establishes the eligibility rules, qualified equipment requirements, incentive amounts, application process, and program deadlines. Gauthier Mechanical does not administer the program or determine whether a customer qualifies.
How the Mass Save Process Works
The exact requirements depend on the project and the customer’s utility provider, but most qualifying heat pump projects follow these four basic steps.

Check Your Eligibility
Begin with Mass Save to confirm that your utility participates and to explore the rebates, financing, and other programs that may apply to your home.

Complete Required Program Steps
Depending on the project, Mass Save may require a Home Energy Assessment, recommended weatherization work, equipment eligibility verification, or financing approval before installation.

Choose a Participating Contractor
Select Gauthier Mechanical through the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network, then contact our team to evaluate your home and prepare a project proposal.

Complete the Project and Apply
Gauthier Mechanical installs the qualifying system and provides the applicable contractor documentation. The customer then completes the rebate process through Mass Save according to the program instructions.
A Contractor You Can Choose Through Mass Save
Gauthier Mechanical does not operate Mass Save, approve rebates, provide the HEAT Loan, or determine final program eligibility. We participate in the Heat Pump Installer Network and may be selected by eligible homeowners for qualifying heat pump projects.
Once you are ready to speak with a contractor, our team can evaluate your comfort needs, discuss appropriate system options, prepare a proposal, install qualifying equipment, and provide the contractor documentation associated with the project.
